♬ Fly me to the moon ♬ (+Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!)

Dear Dreamer,

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Maybe this is a holiday you grew up with or you're discovering it for the first time. Or, maybe you use this as an excuse to eat (way too much) mooncake, which is exactly what my sister and I have been doing :D

So, why is Lumecluster's next chapter beginning with the Moon Festival? The story goes that ten suns were burning the earth. To save it, an archer named Houyi shot down nine of them, leaving us the one sun that we see today.

For this, he was rewarded with an elixir of immortality, which he entrusted to his wife Chang'e, so that one day they could take it together.

But while he was away, a thief came to steal it. Rather than let it fall into the wrong hands, Chang'e drank it herself and flew to the moon where she's lived ever since with only a rabbit for company.

The rabbit earned its place on the moon through its own act of sacrifice, giving itself up to feed a hungry stranger who turned out to be a deity in disguise.

Protecting each other isn't always just about armoring up and fighting. It's also about trust, carrying the weight of difficult choices, and being present during hard times. It felt right to start this chapter here, especially since 2026 has asked most of us to do what the Moon Goddess Chang'e did. To make hard choices, to face painful realities, and to protect something.

This week, your first glimpse of the many new designs begins with the sun, moon, rabbit, and the heavens.

The Moon Rabbit Pendant is a smaller Hawthorn, our rabbit adventurer, inspired by Chang'e's companion. Hawthorn reaches up to catch a falling star in a gourd, surrounded by archaic clouds.

The Sun Pendant carries two interpretations of the sun, one on each side. A small reminder to carry your light with you, especially when the path ahead feels uncertain.

The Clouds Charm Huggies bring a small piece of the sky to your ear. Their shape comes from the cloud-and-thunder patterns on Shang Dynasty ritual bronzes, and across Chinese art. Clouds evoke the heavens and the presence of celestial beings.

And the Lucky Horseshoe, which began as a ring, joins the celestial layer as a pendant and bracelet, with clouds above and a sun at its center. It's an old symbol of protection and good fortune, and a reminder that luck, like light, can be held or shared.

So, this first celestial layer of armor reminds us to look up at the sky and think of all that you care for, no matter how near or far.

More layers of armor are coming as we count down to the full November 8th release, with each one built around a different kind of protection. After all, the cold is rarely the only thing we'll be up against.

So, I hope you take a moment to enjoy the night sky tonight. I'm glad to be here with you under the same moon.

<3 Melissa

P.S. Hawthorn has also had too many mooncakes. No regrets.
