Dreamer Mask: Transformation
Dreamer Mask: Transformation
This mask was painted to look like tarnished steel. The Dreamer Mask is a sculptural centerpiece and creates a beautiful silhouette when backlit.
“At the beginning, when you first start something, it’s fun…Over the next few days and weeks, the rapid learning experience keeps you going…And then the Dip happens. The Dip is the long slog between starting and mastery. A long slog that’s actually a shortcut, because it gets you where you want to go faster than any other path…The Dip is the long stretch between beginner’s luck and real accomplishment.” –Seth Godin, The Dip
It’s easy to focus on the pain and frustration when you’re battling through the rough times. It feels like your confidence and your dreams are constantly being stabbed or cut down left and right. And you can’t help but wonder sometimes, “will any of your effort be worth it?”
But perhaps the better question to ask is, “how much do you want, care, and love what you’re pursuing?” If your answer is “a lot,” then perhaps the next question should be, “how much pain are you willing to endure to make it to the other side?”
Don’t let the struggle completely blind you from the possibilities that can blossom along your journey as you make your way to the top. At the same time, making important changes and transformations rarely comes without perseverance and sacrifice. And it is once you’re through the dip that you expand your vision and your horizons.
