The Sovereign Dreamer pendant is an evolution of my Sovereign Armor mask, but in a more intimate form. It is inspired by Chinese Cantonese opera heroes, deities / guardian statues, armor, flowing ribbons and the Chinese carvings I grew up seeing at home. Like the Sovereign Dreamer Brooch, it also contains a hidden space to hold personal messages or memories close to your heart.
In Chinese art, ribbons usually signify an auspicious message and often embellish divine beings or precious objects. The back of the pendant is inspired by a cherished jade disc pendant my mother gave me as a child, which was meant to protect me from harm.
Designed to be worn two ways, the front and back offer different styles, allowing you to switch up your look depending on your mood. It is your everyday jewelry armor for everyday life that you can wear, play with, or display as a miniature in your curio shelf as a piece of art to inspire you.
