Today is National Love People Day, which is a day that reminds us to pause and focus on what really matters: love, kindness, and connection (beyond the digital).
And in a world where doom scrolling, false narratives, or deep division feel relentless, it’s important to remember that hope and empathy are our armor that helps us keep up the good fight.
As I wrote in Finding Wonderland in a Broken World, reaching out (especially to those who feel unseen or silenced) is how we hold onto our shared humanity.
Yet with the holidays approaching, it often feels like human connection gets buried under an avalanche of Black Friday ads and meaningless consumerism that leaves us feeling empty, stressed or overwhelmed. And for many, the holidays can also be a painfully isolating time.
